How Moonsong uses AI

Moonsong uses AI models for the jobs below. Every AI action is started by you, shows its credit cost first, and runs only after you have allowed AI processing in the app.

Writing and editing lyrics yourself, the Song Blueprint, cover templates, title placement, playback and export don't use AI and are free.

What is sent, and when

This is the AI processing notice you accept in the app (version ai-processing-2026-09-24).

• Nothing goes to an AI provider until you give permission in the app, and then only for the action you start.
• Music: your approved lyrics and Song Blueprint (genre, mood, vocal style, instruments, exclusions, energy, pronunciation hints) go to Google.
• Lyric help: your idea or instruction and the sections you asked it to change go to OpenAI. Locked sections cannot be changed, and every suggestion is shown as changes you accept or reject.
• Covers: an image description based on your project goes to Black Forest Labs.
• Safety: the text of each request is checked by Typesafe's classifier.
• Requests pass through OpenRouter. We ask it to use only provider routes that don't collect data for training (data_collection: deny). The providers are independent companies that may keep data for safety and abuse monitoring under their own policies, and may process it outside the EU/EEA, including in the United States.
• We don't send your email address, and we don't write your lyrics or prompts to our operational logs.
• You can withdraw permission at any time in Profile → Privacy & data. AI features stop; everything else keeps working.

AI-generated content is labelled

Songs, clips, AI covers and AI lyric suggestions are AI-generated, and Moonsong tells you so wherever they appear, in line with the EU AI Act's transparency rules (Article 50). The Creation Record in your export states which parts were AI-generated. Providers may also embed their own watermarks or provenance signals in outputs; don't remove them.

If you publish something made with Moonsong, be open about the AI involvement where the law or the platform requires it, and never use it to make people believe a real person performed or said something they didn't.

Four different rights questions

"Can I use my song?" is really four separate questions, and Moonsong can only answer some of them:

1. What our Terms allow. We claim no ownership of your outputs and don't restrict how you use them beyond our Terms, the law and other people's rights.
2. Copyright protection. Whether your song, or your human contribution such as your lyrics, is protected by copyright depends on the law where you are and how much of the work is yours. Prompting alone is often not enough. We can't guarantee protection.
3. Other people's rights. Your inputs must be yours or used with permission. AI outputs can resemble existing works, so you remain responsible for how you use them.
4. Distribution. Distributors, streaming services and rights systems such as Content ID set their own rules for AI-generated music. We can't guarantee that any of them will accept, monetise or leave unclaimed a Moonsong output.

Your lyrics and inputs

• Use lyrics you wrote, or that you have permission to use.
• Don't ask for the voice, name, style or identity of a real artist or singer. Moonsong does not clone voices and does not accept voice recordings.
• Names in your lyrics are fine when you're allowed to use them, for example a song for a friend's birthday. Pronunciation hints help the model say them.

The Creation Record

Every export can include a Creation Record: a small file describing how your song was made. It includes when it was generated, which models and versions were used, a fingerprint (hash) of the output file, your lyric revisions, the Terms and policy versions you had accepted, and which parts were AI-generated.

It is useful as your own record of the workflow. It is not a copyright certificate, not proof of exclusive ownership and not legal clearance.

Notice and takedown

If you believe content made with Moonsong infringes your rights, or that someone has used your lyrics or identity without permission, email support@sansavision.com with the subject "Rights notice" and include:

• your name and contact details, and whether you act for someone else;
• the work or right you believe is infringed;
• where you found the content and why you believe it came from Moonsong;
• a statement that the information is accurate and that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised.

Moonsong projects are private, so we may not be able to locate content that has been exported and published elsewhere. We review every notice, act on valid ones (for example by removing content and restricting accounts that repeatedly infringe), and tell the affected user unless the law prevents it.

Appeals

If an automated safety check blocked your request, or we removed content or restricted your account, you can ask for a person to review the decision. Email support@sansavision.com with the subject "Appeal", the project name and roughly when it happened. We'll review it and tell you the outcome and our reasons.
